HOW TO GET AROUND 

Throughout the archipelago of Madeira Island, you will find multiple transport facilities to meet your needs.
Enquire at the hotel's reception desk for any of these services.

RENT-A-CAR COMPANIES

There are a wide range of reputable and renowned rental car companies available on the island and if you want to be independent, this is the way to go. Contact the hotel's reception desk, your Travel Agent or any of the car rental companies with sales desks at the Madeira International Airport.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT BUS SERVICE

If you prefer you may also use the efficient local public transport bus service - which is clean, easy to use and operate to the published timetable which you may obtain at any tourist information office / kiosk. Most travel agencies also organize guided bus excursions to the island's most interesting tourist attraction spots. There are also double decker open-top sight seeing buses offering hop-on, hop-off trips to the most interesting parts of Funchal.

TAXIS

Taxis are available at both airports in Madeira and Porto Santo, at all major hotels and along several streets and squares of the city of Funchal in Madeira and Vila Baleira in the neighboring island of Porto Santo. You may get a taxi almost anywhere. Before taking a taxi, enquire about the fare as this varies according to location, weekends, night-trips etc.

BOAT TRIPS AND LUXURY FERRY

Tour the island along the coastline with a view from the ocean via a boat trip. There are a host of different category boat trips which may be booked at the Funchal marina - these include luxury yachts, replica Caravela sailboats, Catamarans, motor boats as well as the Luxury ferry boat (Porto Santo Line) which offers daily trips to the neighbouring island of Porto Santo and back transporting both passengers and vehicles.
